The Namib Desert is known as the oldest desert on Earth, shaped over hundreds of millions of years a place where time seems to stand still. Along the coast, a sea of sand moves relentlessly, guided by the prevailing wind sweeping in off the ocean and shaping the landscape. Every day, the tracks of the day before are erased, revealing a fresh dance of sand, wind, and light. I love wandering among these giants, watching the shapes the dunes create as they cross one another and slowly march inland. This is a collection of images where I've tried to capture the play of light across the dunes of the Namib Desert.
